Admiral Yi Sun-Sin defeated the Japanese navy in 1598 by using a metal covered boat that repelled flaming arrows. Minjeong is an outstanding Master’s degre candidate. She has lived and studied in Thailand, the US, Japan, and Germany. She knows Korean history and art very well. While I was there, she finsihed a paper on US views of Soviet influence inVietnam in the 1950s and 60s.

Gyeongcheonsa Pagoda was erected in 1348. During the Japanese occupation of Korea, the pagoda was taken to Japan. In 1960, the pagoda was returned. Today, the pagoda is in the National Museum of Korea. https://www.museum.go.kr/site/eng/archive/post/archive_20
